My comments on the service Micro.blog, on which this blog is hosted today
If I had known that my hosting provider employed and paid someone whose position is “the videogame asked me pronouns so i uninstalled the videogame”, and the employer knew about this position, I would have started looking for another hosting provider immediately. That is so out of touch and hateful and petty that it fully belongs on Twitter.
This kinda reminds me how much trouble some good folks and I had to go through to get the pronoun field implemented in Micro.blog profiles. Something so simple as the pronoun field. But - and I’m sorry to say - this is starting to look like just a tech platform, a hosting provider. There could be much done about inclusion but - there’s no real interest to pursue it. That’s pretty obvious in the way the Discover feed is curated and how feature requests for inclusion-related features fall on deaf ears entirely.
